Stephen Peng - Florence is You!

Drawing inspiration from both the Eastern tradition and Western art, Stephen Peng creates his works, skilfully balancing abstract with impressionism. His works mark an experienced path, an experiential accumulation of moments, visible through the bold colors and clear broad gestures that represent emotional moments from his extraordinary journey through life. Stephen Peng, a rare combination of talents, in addition to being a painter, is also a designer, a photographer, a world traveller, and a passionate businessman. A charismatic person, who communicates through his art, his works are imbued with passion, emotions and beauty. Born in Taiwan in 1947, he was influenced in his early years by his father who loved to paint as a hobby. In 1969 he held his very first art exhibition, and it would be 44 years later in 2013, when he would have another. Putting aside painting to pursue a business career, Stephen Peng true artistic passions were never far away. He became a fashion designer, creating products and accessories for fashion houses such as Calvin Klein Jeans, Guess, and Levi’s, just to name a few. Stephen Peng is perhaps best known for his iconic design for the United Colors of Benetton’s multi-colored suitcases and luggage, that became a global success. Retiring in 2007, Stephen Peng naturally returned to his childhood passion, art, which leads to his second art exhibition in 2013, with great success in Singapore. After already having his paintings being exhibited in many Asia countries, he is ready to share his fascinating life journey through his works on the European continent. Having worked with various design houses on countless projects in Italy, especially with United Colors of Benetton, it is like returning home for him. The 2015 edition of ARTOUR-O in Florence will be the first stop and Stephen Peng’s works are now being presented for the first time in Italy by the FYR Gallery.

Dopo essersi ritirato dal mondo degli affari, nel 2007, Stephen Peng ènaturalmente tornato alla sua passione infantile, l’arte, che ci porta alla sua seconda mostra d’arte realizzata nel 2013 a Singapore, riscuotendo un grande successo.
