By Frances Morris –The Blonde Citizen

Street Fashion, is the barometer of past collections, which reflects grass-root future classics. More readily identified with the youth in major urban centres, street fashion is the expression of individual city culture with a nod to global and more senior fashion influences.

Florence, is no exception with the advantage of being home to many renowned fashion houses including Roberto Cavalli, Ermanno Scervino, Gucci, Emilio Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo; and hosting the annual Pitti Uomo fashion week which pre-empts all the major exhibitions world-wide. Her citizens have long been natural models for every fashion genre from hippy to preppy – thanks to the strong American student contingent; and Urban to kawaii – who does not look good in a tutu! Every fabric is celebrated and each accessory a revelation. No-one will ever tell this youth a Gucci purse does not accessorise a denim jacket and skinny jeans. Nor should we presume this surge in fashionista is being led from the front by the women in our society. Indeed, men and women and our pets vie for our attention throughout Florence; and I leave it to the reader to judge who is our Tema Caldo!

Never, have I seen such eclectic style, fantastic colour schemes and memorable ensembles than in the streets of Florence in 2016.
