SOUNDS OF EUROPE 2017 Florence, March – May 2017

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, the European University Institute, with the support of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and in cooperation with the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, organises a concert series, Sounds of Europe 2017, together with cultural partners in Florence.
The aim is to familiarize European citizens with music from across the continent. Sounds of Europe 2017, under the artistic direction of Matelda Cappelletti, is part of a wider programme of celebrations coordinated by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers, to which the EUI has the honour to contribute.
More than 150 young musicians aged between 14 and 25 will perform in a rich programme of events, joined by famous musicians such as Alain Meunier, Anne Le Bozec, Stuart Patterson, Nina Uhari, Antonino Siringo and Edoardo Rosadini.Sounds of Europe 2017 will give the public the chance to get to know these talents while introducing the young musicians to European themes and contexts.

SOUNDS OF EUROPE 2017
L’EUROPA CELEBRA I 60 ANNI DEI TRATTATI DI ROMA CON LA MUSICA
Mercoledì 1 marzo il primo concerto di apertura della rassegna musicale all’Auditorium Cosimo Ridolfi alle ore 21,00.
Il 2017 segna il 60° anniversario dei Trattati di Roma, istitutivi la Comunità Economica Europea (CEE) e la Comunità Europea dell’Energia Atomica (Euratom). Per celebrare questo momento, l’European University Institute è felice di partecipare a un ampio programma d’iniziative promosse dalla Presidenza italiana del Consiglio dei Ministri. Con il sostegno della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze e in collaborazione con la Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, l’EUI organizza la serie di concerti Sounds of Europe 2017, sotto la direzione artistica di Matelda Cappelletti e con la partecipazione di realtà culturali del territorio.
Oltre 150 giovani musicisti di età compresa tra i 14 e i 25 anni si esibiranno in un ricco programma di concerti a cui parteciperanno anche artisti di nota fama internazionali quali Alain Meunier, Anne Le Bozec, Stuart Patterson, Nina Uhari, Antonino Siringo e Edoardo Rosadini. Sounds of Europe 2017 offrirà al pubblico la possibilità di conoscere questi talenti e contemporaneamente avvicinare i giovani musicisti a realtà e temi di più ampio respiro europeo.
Il programma si aprirà il 1 marzo per concludersi il 26 maggio, ospitato in varie sedi culturali fiorentine come da programma sotto:
