Михаил Барышников гораздо больше, чем звезда балета и современного танца, это универсальный артист. Танцовщик, хореограф, а также актер (номинация на «Оскар» в 1977, специальный приз «Давид Донателло” в 1978), исполнитель главных ролей в спектаклях Самуэля Бекетта и Боба Вилсона. Родился 27 января 1948 в Риге (Латвия) в русской семье. С раннего детства страстно увлекся классическим балетом. Его захватывающая карьера блестяще развивалась в Советском Союзе и США.

Его энергия, равно как и беспрецедентная индивидуальность, позволили ему состояться как в классическом балете, так и в современном танце, как в творческих лабораториях экспериментального поиска формы и материи танца, так и в производстве собственных линий парфюма (“Misha”) и профессиональной одежды для танцовщиков. Его творческий азарт успешно реализуется также и в ресторанном бизнесе (русский ресторан «Самовар» в Нью-Йорке), и в искусстве фотографии. Среди его светских знакомств были Жаклин Кеннеди и принцесса Диана.
Любимое место артиста – это сцена. Вот и Барышнков, который в этом году отмечает свой семидесятилетний юбилей, представил на сценах американских и европейских театров одно из своих последних произведений – «Бродский/Барышников», моноспектакль в память о его друге, «невозвращенце», как и сам Барышников, гениальном русском поэте Иосифе Бродском (лауреате Нобелевской премии по Литературе за 1987). Во Флоренции этот гипнотический перформанс одного актера состоялся на сцене Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. А 2 июля Флорентийский университет присвоил М. Барышникову ученую степерь ad honorem в области Сценического мастерства в знак признания его незаурядной личности как артиста и исполнителя. Как сказано в обосновании присвоения диплома, «за долгую и ныне активную творческую карьеру в различных областях сценического искусства. Результаты его творчества делают его одним из наиболее универсальных лидеров в истории современной сцены. Значимость его произведений высоко оценена во всем мире». Почетный диплом М. Барышникову вручил ректор Флорентийского университета, Проф. Луиджи Деи, который провел торжественную церемонию вручения всесте с Проф. Андреа Дзордзи, директором Департамента Истории, Археологии, Географии, Искусства и Сценического мастерства.

La star mondiale della danza classica si laurea a Firenze

Mikhail Baryshnikov è molto di più di una stella della danza classica e contemporanea, è un uomo di spettacolo a tutto tondo. Ballerino, coreografo, ma anche attore (nomination all’Oscar nel 1977, premio speciale David di Donatello nel 1978), protagonista di spettacoli di Samuel Beckett e Bob Wilson. Nato il 27 gennaio 1948 a Riga, in Lettonia, da genitori russi, si appassiona sin da giovanissimo alla danza classica e la sua straordinaria carriera si è delineata tra l’Unione Sovietica e gli Stati Uniti. La sua energia, così come la personalità fuori dal comune, gli permettono di realizzarsi sia nel balletto classico che nella danza moderna, sia nei laboratori di ricerca sperimentare di forma e materia del ballo che nella produzione della propria linea di profumi (“Misha”) e abbigliamento professionale di danza classica. La sua creatività si realizza anche nell’ambito della ristorazione (il ristorante russo “Samovar” a New-York) e nella fotografia. Tra le sue amicizie Jacqueline Kennedy e la principessa Diana. Per un’artista il luogo più amato è il palcoscenico e, infatti, Baryshnikov, che quest’anno ha compiuto settant’anni, ha portato sui palcoscenici americani ed europei una delle sue opere più recenti “Brodsky/Baryshnikov”, un omaggio al suo grande amico, il famoso poeta russo Joseph Brodsky (Premio Nobel per la Letteratura nel 1987), che, come lui, fu esiliato. A Firenze, quest’affascinante one-man performance è andata in scena al Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino e il 2 luglio l’Università di Firenze gli ha conferito la laurea ad honorem in Scienze dello Spettacolo. Un riconoscimento alla sua straordinaria figura di artista e interprete e che, come si legge nella motivazione, è stato assegnato “per la lunga e ancora attiva carriera creativa nelle diverse declinazioni delle arti performative. I risultati del suo lavoro ne fanno uno dei più completi protagonisti nella storia della scena contemporanea. L’alto valore delle sue creazioni è apprezzato e riconosciuto in tutto il mondo”. A conferirgli il titolo accademico è stato il Rettore dell’Università di Firenze, il Prof. Luigi Dei, che ha introdotto la cerimonia insieme al Prof. Andrea Zorzi, Direttore del Dipartimento di Storia, Archeologia, Geografia, Arte e Spettacolo.

Mikhail Baryshnikov is much more than a world classical and contemporary dance star; he’s a fully-fledged showman. He is a dancer, choreographer, but also actor (Oscar nominee in 1977, special David di Donatello award in 1978), and starred in shows by Samuel Beckett and Bob Wilson. Born on January 27th 1948 in Riga, Latvia, son of Russian parents, he immediately grew a passion for classical dance at a very young age, and his extraordinary career took flight between the Soviet Union and the USA. His energy and his unique personality allowed him to establish himself in both classical ballet and modern dance, and also carry out research for new forms and styles of dancing. He even entered other worlds, and produced his personal line of perfumes (“Misha”) and a professional classical dance apparel line. His creativity opened the doors to ventures in the worlds of food (the Russian restaurant “Samovar” in New York City) and photography. He boasts friendships with Jacqueline Kennedy and Princess Diana. Performers long for the stage, and Baryshnikov, who turned seventy this year, brought one of his most recent shows, “Brodsky/Baryshnikov”, across theatres in America and Europe; an homage to his great friend, the famous Russian poet Joseph Brodsky (Nobel Prize in Literature, 1987), who, just like him, was exiled. In Florence, this fascinating one-man performance went on stage at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and on July 2nd the University of Florence awarded him with the honorary degree in Science of Performing Arts. A tribute to his extraordinary image as an artist and an interpreter, and which, as stated in the motivation, has been assigned “for the long and ongoing creative career in the different declinations of performing arts. The results in his work make him one of the most well rounded protagonists in the history of the contemporary scene. The high value of his creations is appreciated and recognised worldwide”. The title was bestowed by the Rector of the University of Florence, Prof. Luigi Dei, who introduced the ceremony alongside Prof. Andrea Zorzi, Director of the Department of History, Archaeology, Art and Performing Arts.
