Al Teatro del Maggio concerti e spettacoli per ragazzi da La leggenda dell’Olandese volante a The Rossini Game

Dal 19 al 28 marzo torna al Teatro del Maggio un allestimento entrato nel repertorio del teatro fiorentino, Il barbiere di Siviglia di Gioachino Rossini: costumi bizzarri e colori accesi rendono i personaggi divertenti. Don Basilio è verdissimo con capelli lunghi, unti, naso adunco, tutto verde d’invidia come un serpente; Figaro ha capelli che alludono a orecchie volpine e baffi, mentre don Bartolo, tutto in bianco, assomiglia a un panciuto bulldog che guarda geloso Rosina, vestita di Rosso come il suo amante Lindoro. Il 20 marzo va in scena La clemenza di Tito di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (altre recite il 22, 24 e 27) con la regia di Willy Decker in un allestimento dell’Operà National de Paris e il maestro Federico Maria Sardelli sul podio. La clemenza di Tito è l’opera composta da Mozart per celebrare l’incoronazione di Leopoldo II d’Asburgo a re di Boemia avvenuta il 15 novembre 1790 a Presburgo. Nonostante il poco tempo a diposizione l’opera andò in scena per il debutto al Teatro Nazionale di Praga il 6 settembre 1791. L’11 aprile prosegue il Ciclo di appuntamenti Mahler/Schubert con il maestro Fabio Luisi impegnato nella direzione della Sinfonia n. 8 in mi bemolle maggiore, la Sinfonia dei Mille.

Insieme all’Orchestra e al Coro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, ci saranno il soprano Jennifer Rowley, il soprano Valentina Farcas, il contralto Olesya Petrova, il contralto Diana Haller, il tenore Brenden Gunnell, il baritono Roman Trekel e il basso Rafał Siwekmentre oltre al Coro del Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova, diretti dal maestro Lorenzo Fratini. Venerdì 12 aprile appuntamento con il concerto di Martha Argerich – al pianoforte – e il Cuarteto Quiroga che eseguiranno la Partita n. 2 in do minore BWV 826 di Johann Sebastian Bach, il Quartetto per archi n. 16 in fa maggiore op. 135 di Ludwig van Beethoven e il Quintetto in mi bemolle maggiore per pianoforte e archi op. 44 di Robert Schumann. Dal 3 al 5 aprile ci sarà spazio anche per gli spettacoli dedicati ai ragazzi, con La leggenda dell’Olandese Volante, ispirato a Der fliegende Hollander di Richard Wagner, nuova produzione del Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in collaborazione con Venti Lucenti, con il sostegno della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze e dell’Assessorato all’Educazione del Comune di Firenze. Dal 9 al 18 aprile torna The Rossini Game – Giocando con Gioachino, lo spettacolo-gioco per famiglie con ragazzi dai 6 ai 14 anni che racconta gli avvenimenti più significativi, i personaggi che amarono e detestarono il grande musicista.

to The Rossini Game

From the 19 to the 28 of March, The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini will make its return to the Teatro del Maggio; a production that has entered in the theatre’s repertoire. Bizarre costumes and vivid colours distinguish the characters of this opera buffa. Don Basilio is dressed in intense green and has long, greasy hairy, a hooked nose, all green with envy like a snake; Figaro has hair alluding to fox-like ears and whiskers, while don Bartolo, all in white, looks like a portly bulldog, jealous of Rosina, garbed in red as her lover Lindoro. On March 20 there will be The Clemency of Titus by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (encores on the 22, 24 and 27) with the direction of Willy Decker, in a setting by the Operà National de Paris and with maestro Federico Maria Sardelli on the podium. The Clemency of Titus is the opera composed by Mozart to celebrate the crowning of Leopold II of Habsburg as king of Bohemia on November 15 1790, in Pressburg. Despite the time constraint, the opera debuted at the National Theatre in Prague on September 6 1791. On April 11, the Series of appointments dedicated to Mahler/Schubert will continue with maestro Fabio Luisi directing Symphony n. 8 in E flat major, the Sinfonia dei Mille. The Orchestra and the Choir of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino will be joined by soprano Jennifer Rowley, soprano Valentina Farcas, alto Olesya Petrova, alto Diana Haller, tenor Brenden Gunnell, baritone Roman Trekel, bass Rafal Siwekmentre, and the Choir of the Carlo Felice Theatre of Genoa, conducted by maestro Lorenzo Fratini. Friday April 12 will see the concert by Martha Argerich – at the piano – and the Quiroga Quartet, which will carry out Partita n. 2 in C minor BWV 826 by Johann Sebastian Bach, the strings Quartet n. 16 in F major op. 135 by Ludwig van Beethoven, and the Quintet in B flat major for piano and strings op. 44 by Robert Schumann. From April 3-5 there will be room for the shows dedicated to children, such as the Legend of the Flying Dutchman, inspired by Der Fligende Hollander by Richard Wagner; a new production of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, in collaboration with Venti Lucenti and with the support of the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation and the Department of Education of the City of Florence. From April 9-18, The Rossini Game – Playing with Gioachino will make its return: a show/game for families with children aged 6-14 that retraces the main events of the musician’s life, as well as his friends and foes.
