Dal 6 dicembre 2022 all’11 marzo 2023 l’Aria Art Gallery in Borgo SS Apostoli presenta la mostra collettiva (W)hole New Level, con opere di Marko Lađušić e Aleksandar Vac. La mostra è curata da Nataša Radojević e supportata da Luka Tillinger in quanto animatore dei dipinti dell’artista Lađušić, grazie all’uso della realtà aumentata, un processo conosciuto anche come realtà mediata dall’elaboratore. L’esposizione presentata all’Aria Art Gallery è stata ospitata quest’anno nel padiglione della Serbia in onore della ventitreesima Esposizione Internazionale della Triennale di Milano intitolata Unknown Unknowns. La mostra invita il pubblico a questionare le nostre conoscenze e le origini di queste ultime. Con installazioni e giochi di luci, gli artisti stimolano una conversazione sul cosmo, sulla percezione umana dell’universo, sul significato dei simboli e sulle tecniche usate attraverso la storia per strutturare e capire la nostra realtà.

 

Le opere di Marko Lađušić si presentano principalmente in dipinti e sculture intrecciate con piattaforme multimediali. I suoi lavori si concentrano su ciò che emana dal contrasto tra ciò che è definito e il caos reso possibile da creazioni artistiche. Come racconta la curatrice Nataša Radojević, “Il lavoro di Marko nega il determinismo dell’immaginazione e offre una percezione alternativa della realtà […]. Le composizioni su larga scala rappresentano cicli di creazione – l’inizio e la fine di un flusso che si ripete all’infinito; un tramonto che è paradigma non solo della morte ma anche della rinascita, e nel cui spazio post-apocalittico l’artista ritrova un sentimento distinto, vitale per sfuggire al pessimismo”. Aleksandar Vac si concentra sullo studio della terra e di come accedere le sue varie dimensioni e materialità, con sistemi organici.

 

Nel provare a capire la relazione tra essere umano e constante incertezza, gli artisti continuano il progetto Infinity of Structure, realizzato in collaborazione con il musicista serbo Dorian Jovanović, l’artista Marko Todorović e l’architetto Ivan Mangov, sottolineando una continua collaborazione tra artisti serbi. Adesso, l’attenzione di Marko Lađušić e Aleksandar Vac si dirige verso una riconcentualizzazione dello spazio per come l’individuo lo conosce e lo concepisce. Il visitatore si trova in mezzo a luci e ombre che si alternano, strutture senza fine, proiezioni di movimenti rapidi che danno l’impressione di un viaggio nel tempo e altre realtà quasi surreali.

 

Un secondo obbiettivo di queste installazioni è di conferire al pubblico il potere dell’opera artistica nello stimolare nuove concezioni del nostro ecosistema riflettendo su cosa ne ha dettato lo sviluppo in tale modo. Come rivela (W)hole New Level, il progresso diventa accessibile solamente nel porre un pubblico davanti a realtà invisibili all’occhio nudo.

(W)ole New Level at Aria Art Gallery

 

From the 6th of December 2022 to the 11th of March 2023, the Aria Art Gallery in Borgo SS Apostoli presents the group exhibition (W)hole New Level, with works by Marko Lađušić and Aleksandar Vac. The exhibition is curated by Nataša Radojević and supported by Luka Tillinger as the animator of Lađušić’s paintings, thanks to the use of augmented reality, a process also known as computer-mediated reality. The exhibition presented at the Aria Art Gallery has been hosted this year in the Serbian pavilion in honour of the 23rd International Exhibition of the Milan Triennale entitled Unknown Unknowns. The exhibition invites the public to question our knowledge and the origins of the latter. With installations and plays of light, the artists stimulate a conversation on the cosmos, on the human perception of the universe, on the meaning of symbols and on the techniques used throughout history to structure and understand our reality.

Marko Lađušić’s works are mainly presented in paintings and sculptures intertwined with multimedia platforms. His works focus on what emanates from the contrast between what is defined and the chaos made possible by artistic creations. As curator Nataša Radojević says, “Marko’s work denies the determinism of imagination and offers an alternative perception of reality […]. The large-scale compositions represent cycles of creation – the beginning and the end of a flow that repeats itself endlessly; a sunset that is paradigm not only of death but also of rebirth, and in whose post-apocalyptic space the artist finds a distinct feeling, to escape pessimism”. Aleksandar Vac focuses on the study of earth and how to access its various dimensions and materiality, with organic systems.

In trying to understand the relationship between human beings and constant uncertainty, the artists continue the project Infinity of Structure, realized in collaboration with the Serbian musician Dorian Jovanović, the artist Marko Todorović and the architect Ivan Mangov, emphasizing a continuous collaboration between Serbian artists. Now, the attention of Marko Lađušić and Aleksandar Vac is directed towards a re-conceptualization of space as the individual knows and conceives it. The visitor is surrounded by lights and shadows that alternate, endless structures, projections of rapid movements that give the impression of a journey through time and other almost surreal realities.

A second objective of these installations is to give the public the power of artistic work in stimulating new conceptions of our ecosystem reflecting on what dictated its development in this way. As revealed by (W)hole New Level, progress becomes accessible only by placing an audience in front of realities invisible to the naked eye.
