L’Estate Fiesolana è il più antico festival all’aperto d’Italia, un palcoscenico unico che per tutta l’estate vede protagonista teatro, musica classica, concerti, danza, cinema, mostre e incontri. Tra gli ospiti musicali, Alice, il funambolico Stefano Bollani, Irene Grandi in versione blues, la cantautrice Suzanne Vega. Lunedì 3 luglio protagonista il sound raffinatissimo dei BowLand, la band iraniana – con base a Firenze – che intreccia atmosfere fluttuanti e suoni insoliti, voci eteree e ritmi groovy, mentre mercoledì 12 luglio il Teatro Romano di Fiesole aprirà le porte a Irene Grandi e al suo raffinato progetto “Io in Blues”, in cui ripercorrerà brani di Etta James, Otis Redding, Willie Dixon, Tracy Chapman, Sade, ma anche di Pino Daniele, Lucio Battisti, Mina, oltre ad alcune tracce della stessa Irene, arrangiati in chiave rock-blues. Da non perdere il live del batterista e produttore americano Makaya McCraven, sabato 22 luglio: il suo sound è da sempre sospeso tra jazz, hip hop, funk e soul. Sul palco dell’Estate Fiesolana presenterà l’ultimo album “In These Times”, osannato da critica e pubblico e candidato a ben 3 Grammy Awards. Per il teatro: Erri De Luca, Federico Buffa, Stefano Massini e Luca Barbarossa, Marco Paolini e Maddalena Crippa. Tornano anche le serate del ciclo letterario di Odissea e il viaggio nel romanzo epico di Ludovico Ariosto, alle quali parteciperanno Roberto Mercadini, Mimmo Cuticchio con i suoi pupi siciliani e Vinicio Capossela.

The Estate Fiesolana is the oldest open-air festival in Italy. A unique stage that, for the entire summer, showcases theatre, classical music, concerts, dance, cinema, exhibitions, and meetings. Among the musical guests: Alice, the entertaining Stefano Bollani, Irene Grandi in a blues version, and songwriter Suzanne Vega. On Monday, July 3, the stage will be animated by the very refined sounds of BowLand, the Iranian band – based in Florence – that mixes fluctuating atmospheres with unusual sounds, ethereal voices, and groovy beats. On Wednesday, July 12, the Roman Theatre of Fiesole will open its doors to Irene Grandi ant to her elegant project Io in Blues, featuring songs by Etta James, Otis Redding, Willie Dixon, Tracy Chapman, Sade, but also Pino Daniele, Lucio Battisti, Mina, and other tracks by the artist, arranged in a unique rock-blues key. Not-to-be-missed, the live concert by American drummer and producer Makaya McCraven, on Saturday, July 22: his sound has always been suspended between jazz, hip hop, funk, and soul. On the stage of the Estate Fiesolana, he will present his latest album In These Times, acclaimed by both critic and public alike, which was recently nominated for 3 Grammy Awards. The theatre shows include performances by: Erri De Luca, Federico Buffa, Stefano Massini and Luca Barbarossa, Marco Paolini and Maddalena Crippa. And there will be room also for the return of the nights of the literary cycle of the Odissey and an excursus through the epic novel by Ludovico Ariosto, which will see the participation of Roberto Mercadini, Mimmo Cuticchio and his Sicilian puppets, and Vinicio Capossela.
