Florence in the summer. Trendy places not to be missed
From panoramic terraces to rooftops and green spaces
Some proposals
Every year, when the days get longer, Florence wakes up in a new dimension, that of summer, to be experienced either from the top of the terraces or in green spaces. Between panoramic rooftops, hidden gardens and lounges with a view, these become the beating heart of the nightlife, where you can enjoy an aperitif at sunset or dinner under the stars. On the 5th floor of The Social Hub Firenze Belfiore has opened the panoramic terrace with the largest roof garden in the city, an elevated park that combines nature, architecture and a contemporary vision of the public space: 7,000 square meters open to all, 3,500 plants of 60 species, corners with children’s games, picnic tables and a long flowering pergola. The gastronomic offer on the terrace includes three pop-ups: the Chiosco di Mare (seafood street food), the Asian Firenzen and Calistro (grilled tortelli and gourmet burgers). From the Grand Hotel Baglioni, the B-Roof – the panoramic restaurant on the iconic terrace –enlivens the summer with “Shades of Summer”, a sensory journey through chromatic suggestions, sounds and flavours: exclusive events, each characterised by a guiding colour and a defined thematic identity, which tell the story of the season by combining cuisine, mixology and music. The events continue until October 4th with the “Red passion closing party” event. The Florentine summer can then count on “Domenica al Sole”, the brunch by Alassio, the restaurant inspired by the charm of the Italian coasts, inside The Hoxton Florence, in collaboration with Villa Sandi. Until July 20th, the Sunday brunch is in the hotel’s internal courtyard, a green corner with centuries-old olive trees, potted lemons and a three-level fountain, with live music and entertainment for children. The view from the Osteria Dragomanni, on the terrace of the La Scaletta hotel, in via Guicciardini, is beautiful, while Villa Vittoria – the garden in the park of Firenze Fiera – is transformed into a lounge open from Tuesday to Saturday. The novelty wanted by Aldo Settembrini is the pizzeria by the maestro Romualdo Rizzuti, in the garden area.v
