The 72nd edition of the Mostra del Cinema di Venezia Italian cinema in the front line | Four tricolor films inside the competition
There are three Italian titles running for the Leone d’Oro in the 72nd edition of the Venice Film Festival that opened its door on September 2nd with 55 feature films and 16 short films, selected from more than 3193 viewed works. Our competitors are Marco Bellocchio (Sangue del mio sangue), Giuseppe Gaudino (Per amor vostro), Luca Guadagnino (A bigger splash) and newcomer Piero Messina (L’attesa); they are all presenting different films and international actors, deputies to represent the presence of the tricolor in the competition that boasts 21 titles, a few more than in the previous years.
