Liu Ruo Wang è uno dei maggiori artisti contemporanei della Cina, scultore e pittore, le cui opere monumentali conquistano per la forza creativa e tendono a superare i limiti della scultura, instaurando un dialogo con l’ambiente, con lo spazio architettonico e urbano. Le sue sculture, di varie dimensioni, sono quasi tutte realizzate in bronzo ed esprimono un potente dinamismo grazie al quale l’artista, sia nella pittura che nella scultura, riesce ad instaurare un legame forte e, per certi versi inspiegabile, tra il pubblico e le sue installazioni.

Liu Ruo Wang è un artista di fama internazionale, soprattutto grazie alle sue istallazioni e allo stile facilmente riconoscibile che lascia il segno in ogni parte del mondo; recentemente ha vinto il primo premio alla Biennale Nord Art in Germania. La prima volta che ho visto la sua grandiosa e toccante installazione dei lupi nel centro di Pechino ero con l’Ambasciatore albanese e con Kujtim Xhani, mi sono fermato e ho pensato alle capacità di questo giovane e geniale artista, e più osservavo la sua installazione più intuivo i sogni di un artista divenire realtà in una città come Pechino, capitale dell’arte contemporanea mondiale. Dopo la partecipazione alla Biennale di Venezia, Liu Ruo Wang torna in Italia, a Milano, alla Galleria Lorenzelli Arte, protagonista della prima mostra personale che l’artista realizza in una galleria privata europea. Matteo Lorenzelli, che da due anni segue il suo lavoro, ha scelto insieme all’artista le opere, sia scultoree che pittoriche, da esporre in Galleria.

Le sculture monumentali hanno volumi importanti e quando sono schierate insieme sono impressionanti, sembrano fare la guardia nelle piazze di Pechino e delle città più importanti al mondo. La calligrafia e le opere su carta hanno caratterizzato per secoli le arti in Cina e anche molti artisti europei hanno tratto ispirazione da esse; oggi la situazione sembra essersi ribaltata, infatti molti artisti della Cina contemporanea usano un linguaggio che attinge a piene mani dall’arte occidentale. Liu Ruo Wang è capace di parlare un linguaggio universale, comprensibile a tutti, riuscendo al contempo a trasmettere la sua personale ricerca, trasformandola in vera e propria azione.

Magic and art live in his works

Liu Ruo Wang is one of the leading contemporary artists in China, sculptor and painter, whose monumental works impress with creative force and tend to exceed the limits of sculpture, establishing a dialogue with the environment, with the architectural and urban space. His sculptures of various sizes, are almost all made of bronze and represent a powerful dynamism through which the artist, whether it is painting or sculpting, can establish a solid connection, in inexplicable ways, between the public and his installations.

Liu Ruo Wang is an artist of international renown, primarily thanks to his installations and the easily recognizable style that leaves a mark all over the world; recently he won the first prize at the Art North Biennial in Germany. The first time I saw his grand and touching installation of wolves in the center of Beijing I was with the Albanian Ambassador and Kujtim Xhani, I stopped and thought about the ability of this young man and talented artist. The more I watched his installation, the more I could glimpse into the dreams of an artist coming true in a city like Beijing, the world capital of contemporary art. After participating in the Venice Biennale, Liu Ruo Wang returns to Italy, in Milan, at the Art Gallery Lorenzelli, star of the first exhibition that the artist created in a European private gallery. Matteo Lorenzelli, who has been following his work for two years, has chosen the works together with the artist, both sculpture and painting, to be exhibited in the Gallery.

The monumental sculptures have vast volumes and when deployed together they’re impressive; they seem to stand guard in the streets of Beijing and the most important cities in the world. Calligraphy and works on paper have characterized the arts in China for centuries, and also many European artists have been inspired by them. Today the situation seems to have reversed, in fact, many contemporary artists from China use a language that heavily borrows the western art style. Liu Ruo Wang can speak a universal language, understood by everyone, while conducting his quest at the same time, transforming it into real action.
