“Discovering at a very early age the passion that burns within us like a fever is probably the greatest blessing we could ever receive. It is a deeply personal nuclear engine that generates hope, trust, and optimism without leaving behind any radioactive waste. It is that perfect moment when we do not know who we are and who we will become, transformed and shaped by the wondrous clay of our dreams, because love itself is ambitious. If we indulge it without ever abandoning that belief, we will realize that it has grand plans for us,” he said during the conference at the auditorium of the Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Florence. The event was organized by the Rotary Club Firenze Sesto Michelangelo and chaired by Luca Barretta, along with the five clubs of Area Medicea 2. Ghidini discovered his great passion for flying at a very young age. Now, he is involved in the world’s most prestigious aerospace programs and is a senior official at the European Space Agency (ESA). During the event in Florence, he shared his reflections and extraordinary professional experiences with the audience, illustrating with visionary clarity and technical expertise the deep bond that has always connected humankind to space: its exploration, the mysteries of the Universe, the great accomplishments, and the challenges ahead.
