From April 11th to April 13th Florence has welcomed the most famous wedding planners worldwide who came to speak at the great congress Destination wedding planners. The speakers unfolded the new trend of the market, regarding celebrities and royal families most of all.

We put together the comments of the Florence Convention Bureau Directress, Carlotta Ferrari: “The event was a complete success! The territorial administration has been very supportive. We had the pleasure to inaugurate the convention in Salone dei Cinquecento, set up in the style of “a real living room” for the occasion. Mayor Nardella told various stories and historical themed incidents, tracing the fame of Florence as the prime destination for weddings from Medici times. So far 40% of the international weddings take place in Tuscany in a “spontaneous” way: our objective is to increase this percentage, promoting not only Florence but also other countless places in Tuscany, proposing religious and civil ceremonies, supporting foreigner clients on a bureaucratic level as well”.

Dall’11 al 13 aprile Firenze ha accolto i wedding planners più famosi del mondo intervenuti al grande congresso Destination wedding planners. I relatori hanno illustrato i nuovi trend del mercato, soprattutto per quel che riguarda le celebrities e le famiglie reali. Abbiamo raccolto il commento della Direttrice di Florence Convention Bureau, Carlotta Ferrari: “La manifestazione è andata alla grande! Le amministrazioni del territorio ci hanno dato un grande supporto. Abbiamo avuto il piacere di inaugurare la convention nel Salone dei Cinquecento, allestito in stile “salotto reale” per l’occasione. Il Sindaco Nardella ha raccontato vari aneddoti ed episodi storici a tema, facendo risalire la fama di Firenze come destinazione privilegiata per i matrimoni addirittura ai tempi dei Medici. Finora il 40% dei matrimoni internazionali si è svolto in Toscana in modo ‘spontaneo’: il nostro obiettivo è quello di aumentare questa percentuale, promuovendo non solo Firenze ma anche le altre innumerevoli località toscane, proponendo cerimonie religiose e civili, e supportando i clienti stranieri anche al livello burocratico”.
