For the summer, let’s discover Florence’s terraces.
Breathtaking views, rooftops, and lounges overlooking the city skyline

As every summer, Florentines and tourists in search of refreshment are looking for places where they can enjoy an aperitif and something good to eat. Here is a selection of places to try, from panoramic terraces and rooftops to lounges overlooking the city skyline. We begin with The Social Hub, with the iconic pool of TSH Lavagnini on one side and, on the other, Florence’s largest elevated urban park on the fifth floor of TSH Belfiore: the two rooftops are now considered among the city’s must-visit spots. The terrace of Cosimo Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is recommended for its combination of views and the cuisine of chef Marco Migliorati, while in summer the Segno by Empireo restaurant moves to the top floor of Hotel Plaza Lucchesi, with an offering that also includes pizza. In Piazza Santa Maria Novella, contemporary mixology meets one of the most spectacular views of the city at La Terrazza del Grand Hotel Minerva, while in the heart of the historic centre, the 701 Rooftop Bar, created from a historic suite at the Gallery Hotel Art, is an elegant, secluded retreat that brings together contemporary charm, a sophisticated atmosphere, and cocktails by Sasha Mecocci. In Piazza dell’Unità, the choice is between Zefiro Rooftop at the W Florence hotel, with lush vegetation and bold finishes, and B-Roof at the Grand Hotel Baglioni. A short distance away, on the sixth floor of Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi, Aria Rooftop weaves together the cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Iside De Cesare, mixology, and an exclusive atmosphere. Among the most evocative locations in the city centre, it is impossible not to mention Angel Roofbar & Dining on the top floor of Hotel Calimala, with hanging gardens, aromatic plants, and soft lighting, or ToscaNino at Rinascente in Piazza della Repubblica, as well as Butterfly Terrace in Via Tornabuoni, with pizzas by Manuel Maiorano, and the Sky Bar at Hotel La Scaletta.
Summer is served.
