Pitti Uomo 89 The world’s most important platform for men’s clothing and accessory collections will take place between 12 and 15 of January

Started in 1950s with fashion shows hosted in the Sala Bianca of the Palazzo Pitti, Pitti Immagine rapidly became an important game changer in the fashion stage of the city of Florence. Across decades, Pitti Immagine built its reputation of being the organiser for promotional events and international fairs for different branches of fashion in the city.

The main locations used for these events nowadays are the Fortezza da Basso and the Stazione Leopolda, but smaller venues across the city can be hosts too. Pitti Uomo is one of the main events of Pitti Immagine. It is more than just catwalks, it is a tradeshow that allows buyers, retailers and editors to come together and view the upcoming collections. Every year, the Pitti Uomo week brings to Florence both new and old brands to take part in one of the biggest and most important menswear fashion events of the year. Although it is a place where business gets done, Pitti Uomo became over the years more than that. It is the place where an entire community of professionals and lovers of fashion meet up and participate to the different sections of the event: Pitti Uomo, Pop Up, Make, Eye Pop, Futuro Maschile, Touch!, L’altro uomo, Urban Panorama, Iplay and My Factory. This year’s Pitti Uomo will take place between the 11^th and the 15^th of January.  Monday, the first day of the event, is starting off with several collections on display and rounding up the day with the Firenze4ever party at the Manifattura Tabacchi. The second day is filled with events everywhere in the city, but most importantly, the opening ceremony of Pitti Uomo that will take place at Palazzo Vecchio. Wednesday is dedicated to press conferences, presentations and workshops and, of course, a party to end the day in style. The fourth day, Thursday, the guests will enjoy new fashion shows and installations, performances and workshops. Lastly, on Friday, Pitti Uomo closes with the International Woolmark Prize to round up a great week of events. Quest’anno Pitti Uomo si terrà tra l’11 e il 15 gennaio. Lunedì, il primo giorno dell’evento, inizierà con diverse collezioni e verrà chiuso dal party di Firenze4ever alla Manifattura Tabacchi. La seconda giornata prevede molteplici eventi disseminati in tutta la città, ma, soprattutto, la cerimonia inaugurale a Palazzo Vecchio. Mercoledì è dedicato alle conferenze stampa, presentazioni, workshop e, chiaramente, al party per concludere la giornata in stile. Nel quarto giorno, giovedì, gli ospiti potranno assistere a sfilate e installazioni, performance e workshop. Pitti Uomo chiuderà venerdì con l’International Woolmark Prize, a conclusione di un’importante settimana di eventi.
